Shoplifting and Theft Awareness Class (SATA) was founded by Jim Thienes, who is an active law enforcement officer. He is also the founder of Driving with Safety and Respect (www.dwsr.org) which is an all-encompassing driver re-education class.
A county probation office asked Jim to develop a shoplifting program based on the impact seen by his DWSR class. Many in the court system believe re-education is a better goal than mere punishment. Presenting critical information, in a professional and effective manner, is the primary objective of SATA. Jim is a Certified Shoplifting and Theft Awareness trainer/educator through the national NAADAC and LPCA.
